“Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.” William Wordsworth
Imagine an outdoor space where children learn with their hands elbow-deep in the dirt, skip along a hopscotch grid and lean forward on their seats to hear the end of a fairytale. Imagine an outdoor space where neighbors can gather for an outdoor meeting or live acoustic music or an intergenerational game of kickball.
In a small community like Mt. Washington, this dream is not so far-fetched.
We invite you to join us as we invigorate the outdoor space on the corner of Sulgrave and Lochlea across from Mt. Washington Elementary. A group of parents and community members are already hard at work developing plans, coordinating construction efforts and raising funds to build an outdoor classroom and playspace where the old wooden structure once stood.
